Jim Boggio Accordion Scholarships

In memory of Sonoma County's beloved accordionist Jim Boggio, a $500 student accordion scholarship is given away each year at the Cotati Accordion Festival, an event he co-founded. Recipients are young people who have shown a love for the instrument and a dedication to its study and advancement. The money comes from ongoing sales of Mr. Boggio’s tapes and CDs.

Jim could play anything on the accordion, from jazz and blues, to polka and zydeco. He was loved not only for his accordion virtuosity, but for his great sense of humor and love of life. We all miss him still.

ED—Scholarships are awarded from the main stage Saturday and Sunday at 2:20 pm, just prior to the Lady of Spain-a-Ring. For information about the scholarship and Boggio CD sales, contact
