PERFORMING AT THE 2015 CAF
The Amigos

NEWS FLASH! THE AMIGOS HAVE JUST WON THE 2015 INDEPENDENT MUSIC AWARD "BEST AMERICAN ALBUM OF THE YEAR" FOR THEIR DINER IN THE SKY ALBUM. Read all about it here.

“This accordion-based group (yes, accordion!) is updated Americana at its best. Taking mostly folk-rock then adding jazz and zydeco-cajun influences, you get music that’s impossible not to stomp your feet to (or dance around in happy circles).” - Huffington Post, Top 5 Must-See Indie Summer Concerts 2014

“Describing themselves as a “hot folk” ensemble, this energetic quartet appeals to the same dancing crowd that flocks to such neo-hot jazz groups as the Stay Human Band and the Hot Sardines.” - Wall Street Journal

THE AMIGOS deliver foot-stomping, accordion-infused Americana music blending folk-rock, zydeco/cajun, and hot jazz. Rockin’ solos, dare-devil harmony singing, and wild western-wear have taken the Amigos around the world, from sold-out shows at Lincoln Center to the Philadelphia Folk Festival and Nashville’s Music City Roots. In 2014, the Amigos completed a tour of China, Cambodia, Burma, Laos, and Vietnam through American Voices’ American Music Abroad program. As musical ambassadors for the U.S. Department of State, they conducted conducted over 30 concerts and workshops and collaborated with a variety of local and
international artists. The Amigos are festival favorites and committed musical mentors. In addition to performing and recording, they conduct over 50 workshops in schools nation-wide each year. These workshops focus on themes such as jazz and democracy, freedom and improvisation, and folk music and multicuturalism. The Amigos have appeared with the Carolina Chocolate Drops, Sam Bush, Tab Benoit, Jon Batiste and Stay Human, Nellie McKay, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Jim Lauderdale, Ranger Doug, David Amram and Pete Seeger.
